constipation, behaviour and postures due to INDIGESTION in autism kids

Image
It's not uncommon to have constipation in kids with autism. It's seen in around 70% cases. It is hypothesised to be due to lack of sensing the gut distention for evacuation and child starts reatining motions /stools inside. In most kids it's not per se constipation to hard stools. But if the child has 5o strain, it's better to call it constipation and manage as early as possible. A child refusingt I sit for potty or doingw eird gestures at potty time or making legs curved or not sitting properly or had pain or discomfort is likely to have indigestion which eventually causes constipation.  The gut is 18 feet long and if the child passes less than 4 inches motion block at a time, it's likely 5o be constipation. It's again constipation if the child passes very smal pellet like stool balls or smelly or gassy stools mean the child is retaining a lot and most potty is getting fermented and smelly. Theme of world autism day 2026 is   "inclusion, equity, and neurodiversity  across education, employment, and community life"  moving from awareness to acceptance, strengthening rights, and celebrating the "true colours" and unique strengths of autistic individual Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):  The 2026 observances are tightly linked to the UN SDGs, specifically focusing on quality education (SDG 4) and good health and well-being (SDG 3) for people with autism 🌍 World Autism Action & Appreciation Day 2026 (Dr Kondekar’s Message to Parents) Today, we do not just “raise awareness.” The world is already aware of autism. What we truly need is ACTION… And what we deeply owe is APPRECIATION. Autism is not a condition to be merely identified — It is a neurodiverse way of being, a different rhythm of sensing, perceiving, and connecting with the world. 👉 The goal is not to “fix” children… 👉 The goal is to understand, support, and develop them. Speech Delay and Autism

Image
Dr kondekar Listening to Speech is 18 months journey, Speech develops only by verbal listening. it doesn't develop by oral motor exercises if listening or understanding or receptive speech is poor. so first focus on listening and learning speech input before you work on output. 90% of your daily time with kid should be spent of language based listening in form of story composition and conversations to start spontaneus speech or relevant speech. Speech is not about reading ro talking, it's more about having depth of verbal understanding. working on only that will help.
